This blog started as a project to process this journey. I am beginning this journey with my husband. He was diagnosed with Stage 5 kidney disease at the age of 28 years old. He was otherwise completely healthy, and this has come as a complete shock to my family and his friends. He was diagnosed with Berger’s Disease (IGaN). It was most likely triggered by a viral infection. We suspect this virus was Covid-19.

I hope this blog will provide hope and empowerment. It should offer resources and support for other families experiencing the same journey. Whether you’re starting at stage one or five, you are welcome in this space.

I am located in British Columbia. I will post Canadian/BC specific resources and tips from time to time. These posts could include mental health, physical health, or even system navigation tips and tricks for Kidney Disease.
